Walker Sime supports the delivery of the £71m park and infrastructure project at Central Docks, Liverpool Waters

Enabling works are about to begin at Central Docks – a £71m infrastructure project that marks a major step forward in the regeneration of the next neighbourhood within Liverpool Waters.
——–
The scheme, led by waterside regeneration specialists Peel Waters, and delivered by the contractor GRAHAM, will provide the critical infrastructure needed to unlock Central Docks as a new waterfront neighbourhood. This includes new roads, utilities, a five-acre Central Park, and high-quality public realm – all setting the stage for thousands of future homes and community facilities.
Walker Sime is proud to be part of the project team, supporting Peel Waters and partners in bringing this ambitious vision to life. Our role is focused on ensuring the project is delivered efficiently, collaboratively and in line with the long-term ambitions for Liverpool Waters – transforming former industrial land into a connected, sustainable place for people to live, work and enjoy.
Central Docks is the largest of the five neighbourhoods planned within the £5bn Liverpool Waters development and will eventually deliver around 2,350 homes across a mix of tenures. With Central Park at its heart, the neighbourhood will provide green space, recreation, and community amenities, while reconnecting the waterfront with the wider city. This infrastructure project is expected to complete in spring 2028 – a significant milestone in creating one of the UK’s most transformational regeneration sites.
Charlie Chu, Associate Director – Project Management at Walker Sime, said:
“Being part of Liverpool Waters is about more than delivering infrastructure – it’s about laying the groundwork for a neighbourhood that will reshape the city’s waterfront
for generations to come. The scale, ambition, and legacy of Central Docks make this a truly inspiring project to be involved in.”
Chris Capes, Director of Development at Liverpool Waters, said:
“These enabling works at Central Docks are an important step in realising the vision for Liverpool Waters. This investment in infrastructure, green space and public realm will unlock the full potential of Central Docks, laying the foundations for a vibrant, sustainable neighbourhood. We’re pleased to be working with partners like Walker Sime who share our ambition and commitment to delivering long-term value for the city and its communities.”
