Gareth Robertson Joins Walker Sime as UK Director of Quantity Surveying

To reflect our strategic expansion and continued growth, we’re delighted to announce that Gareth Robertson has been appointed as the UK Director of Quantity Surveying.

Gareth brings a wealth of experience to this new role, having previously served as a Senior Director and Head of Cost Management for the North of England at CBRE where he led and quickly grew the cost management team over his four-year tenure.

Walker Sime’s decision to bring Gareth on board underscores our commitment to purposeful growth. Managing Director, Duncan Firth expressed his delight with Gareth’s appointment, emphasising his alignment with the company’s values and culture. “His appointment marks another pivotal moment in our growth. Having collaborated with Walker Sime on various projects during his time at CBRE, Gareth was inspired by our track record and values, finding a strong alignment with his own corporate and personal values.

 
Expressing gratitude for his time at CBRE, Gareth acknowledged the contributions of his colleagues to his professional development. Gareth is eager to leverage his expertise to further enhance Walker Sime’s Quantity Surveying offer. He described his role as “picking up the baton with the already strong QS team and continuing the great work already being done and collectively moving the service line forward.”

Based in our office in Manchester, Gareth will also extend his expertise to Walker Sime’s Liverpool and Leeds offices. Alongside his responsibilities as the UK Director of Quantity Surveying, Gareth will be an integral part of our new-look Executive Leadership Team, collaborating closely with colleagues Tammy Harrison-Round, Director of Business Development, and Cathy Palmer, Head of Regeneration Delivery to further develop the Quantity Surveying offer.

Gareth’s immediate focus will be on leading the team on several high-profile instructions, details of which will be unveiled soon.
