Walker Sime’s Carbon Reduction Plan
Walker Sime’s Carbon Reduction Plan, developed in partnership with Positive Planet, outlines the company’s commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030. The baseline year for emissions measurement is 2021, and the plan tracks both Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, such as direct office utilities, and Scope 3 emissions, which include employee commuting and business travel.
The company aims to reduce its carbon footprint by 90% by 2030 and achieve a carbon intensity of less than 1 tonne CO2e per employee. Key milestones include eliminating Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 and reducing Scope 3 emissions by 58% by 2025, and 82% by 2028.
Sustainable Actions
Walker Sime has implemented several initiatives such as procuring renewable energy and setting up a Social Value Committee. Future plans involve upgrading office infrastructure, improving energy efficiency, and engaging suppliers through a sustainable procurement policy.
In addition to the initiatives already completed, Walker Sime’s ongoing focus includes reducing employee travel emissions, increasing renewable energy use, and actively engaging with landlords to promote sustainability across all their office locations.
Walker Sime’s Executive Team has reviewed and approved the Carbon Reduction Plan, ensuring its alignment with science-based targets and strategic sustainability goals.
